Mission

The mission of Worn at the Edges is to foster community. Through the medium of print we seek to share our love of screenprinting and photography, history and historical architecture, and a variety of landscapes, especially those found in our home base of Western Massachusetts.

Methods

We work at the intersection of modern technologies and old-school printing techniques. Our presses are manual, all prints done by hand; the inks we use are water-based, the cleansers non-toxic; shipping supplies are as eco-friendly as we can afford. Most of the materials we use are USA-made and we prioritize offering union-made materials whenever we can.

We create, package, and distribute our work in the most sustainable way possible, leaving the smallest carbon footprint possible, supporting other local businesses whenever possible.

All finished products are produced by a real-life human being who (it is hoped) will catch any glaring imperfections before an item leaves the shop. The art of hand-printing does not lend itself to absolute perfection – that is part of its charm – but we are committed to quality and guaranteeing customer satisfaction. If you are unhappy with your purchase, do not hesitate to let us know so we can make it right.

Mentalité

We are advocates of slow fashion and discourage ordering more items than absolutely necessary; quality > quantity.

All prints are done in single batches. When applicable, single-sided prints are signed, numbered, and dated; bifold cards get a stamp on the back panel that includes the production year.

We are a conduit for connecting the widespread community of old-house-lovers, amateur preservationists and professional restorationists alike, through our printed work. For more on that, visit our Old House Prints page.
